Former MPA Ramsingh Sodho Remembered - Sindh Courier-1Ramsingh Sodho, who had moved to India in 2011, passed away on February 13; Memorial gathering held in his ancestral village Arokhi

Mithi, Tharparkar: The speakers at a memorial gathering on Monday in village Arokhi, eulogized the social and political services of Ramsingh Sodho, a former member of provincial assembly of Sindh, who had moved to India after resigning from the seat in 2011 and passed away on February 13, 2021.

Born on January 16, 1945 at village Arokhi of Diplo Taluka, Ramsingh Sodho was highly respected person of Rajput community and other social and political circles as well. He was lawyer by profession and was first elected to provincial assembly in 1985. One of his sons – Dilip Singh had migrated to India earlier where he died in 2001 at Bhuj during an earthquake. His son Guman Singh had also moved to India in 2007.

A number of notables from Rajput community, social and political leaders and activists attended the memorial gathering and paid homage to Ramsingh Sodho. On this occasion, the special edition of a magazine ‘Rajwarra’  on Ramsingh Sodha was also launched.

Former MPA Ramsingh Sodho Remembered - Sindh Courier-2Addressing the gathering, member of Sindh assembly Arbab Lutufullah said that late Ramsingh Sodho was a multifaceted personality who served his community in desert district. “We learned a lot from his social and political life,” he said and also praised the Rajput community describing it as the identity of Tharparkar.

Kunwar Karni Singh Rajput in his address said that it was wisdom of Ramsingh Sodho that despite having different political approach, he was connected socially with all the circles.

Renowned poet Dr. Akash Ansari, Khalid Jogi, Hafiz Nizamani, Haji SandBharoomal Amrani, advocate Raisingh Sodho, Niaz Pitafi, Mir Buledi, Khadim Talpur and others also spoke and paid rich tributes to Ramsigh Sodho.

They said Ramsingh Sodho was Rajput, a community that always loved the nature and safeguarded the natural beauty of Tharparkar.     _______________
