Today you stand again in pride,
With flowers laid beneath your monument.
We, the young followers of your path, rejoice,
Your spirit guards us, ever-present.

GRANDPA, THE AGE YOU AWAITED HAS COME
Grandpa, the age you awaited has come,
Our homeland is now sovereign and free.
The country is peaceful, the people are safe,
Each passing day brings growth and prosperity.
“Knowledge is a remedy for humankind,
Never cease to study and explore,” you said.
My nation has turned toward enlightenment,
For generations to come, your heart once bled.
You travelled the world and mastered many tongues,
A brilliant linguist and a wandering sage.
You brought every innovation to the people
And wrote scholarly books for every age.
A poet of delicate taste, a master of ghazals,
Your collection of verse was known throughout the land.
You always sought the truth and justice,
A historian and a fair judge, noble and grand.
A Jadid educator born in Namangan,
A devoted supporter of the new teaching way.
You opened the first printing house,
So that ignorance would no longer hold the nation in its sway.
My awakened grandpa, my wise grandpa,
The stones of false accusation were cast at you.
A massacre descended upon your head—
Alas, the heart could scarcely bear what you went through.
As though you mocked the cruel oppressors,
You departed this world with a fearless smile.
In truth, you were a saintly soul,
Taking your body whole beyond life’s final mile.
Today you stand again in pride,
With flowers laid beneath your monument.
We, the young followers of your path, rejoice,
Your spirit guards us, ever-present.
Grandpa, the age you awaited has come…
