Health authorities claim ‘only 500’ mild gastro cases registered in Kachho

63 medical camps were set up in nine flood-hit union councils of Kachho area of Dadu district – DHO

Kachho remained under flood water from 7 to 27 July continuously and reportedly some deaths of children occurred due to gastro and other water-borne diseases.

The health authorities have claimed that ‘only 500’ mild cases of gastro were reported from nine flood-hit union councils of Kachho area of Dadu district, where according to them 63 medical camps were set up.

The affected union councils of Kachho include Wahi Pandhi, Tando Rahim Khan, Sawaro, Drigh Bala, Chhinni, Haji Khan and Mitho Babar.

Kachho-Rain-Medical-Camps-Sindh CourierKachho-Rain-Medical-Camps-Sindh Courier-1“Following the directives of Sindh Chief Secretary and Provincial Secretary Health to cope up the situation of diseases specially the gastro, a drive was launched in flood-hit union councils where 5900 general patients were treated in medical camps at Qasibo, Masat Kehar Shah, Drighbala, Nanagra Dario, Mureed Babar and Pat Gul Mohammad and other flood hit areas of Kachho located in western belt of Dadu district,” District Health Officer Dadu Dr. Ahmed Ali Samejo told.

He said that total 63 medical and mobile camps were established at Kachho from 27 July to date.

He said that medical teams are continuing their work at various places in Kachho.

DHO said that a fumigation drive was also launched in KN Shah, Mehar, Dadu and Johi Talukas.

It may be mentioned that Kachho remained under flood water from 7 July to 27 continuously and reportedly some deaths of children occurred due to gastro and other water-borne diseases.

Following such incidents of gastro and other diseases, the district administration led by DC Dadu Syed Murtaza Ali Shah also coordinated with the health department and worked in field. DC Dadu also directed assistant commissioners of Johi, KN. Shah, Mehar and Dadu to support and Join the teams of health department.

DG Health Dr. Mohammad Juman Bahoto also arrived at Kachho and visited taluka hospital Johi, Dadu and Sehwan hospitals.

Recently, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also visited the Manchhar Lake, Chhinni and Darwat Dam and distributed relief goods and tents among flood hit areas some two week back.

During visit to flood hit areas Syed Murad Ali Shah was briefed by DC Dadu Syed Murtaza Ali Shah about relief works and medical camps in Kachho.

Three main roads of Kachho out of six were restored under supervision of DC Dadu Syed Murtaza Ali Shah which were destroyed in floods.
