Chief Minister Murad Shah inaugurates Blood Transfusion Services Center in the new building of Indus Hospital Korangi

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that his government in partnership with Indus Hospital is establishing a 1350-bed hospital over an area of 20 acres at Korangi area of Karachi.

“Our partnership for the ailing people of the country, particularly of the province is based on the humanitarian cause which is totally above any kind of discrimination.”

This he said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Indus Hospital Blood Transfusion Services Center in the new building of Indus Hospital at Korangi on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Minister of Local Government Nasir Shah. Founding President of Indus Hospital Prof Dr. Abdul Bari, Mohammad Dada Bhai, Farhan Hanif, and others attended the ceremony.

Shah said that the Indus Hospital in partnership with the Sindh government was being established as a 1350-bed hospital over an area of 20 acres. He disclosed that it was a project of Rs.24 billion in which his government would pay 50 percent cost of Rs.12 billion. ‘We have already paid our half of the amount and if the project is completed within three years, I would pay the remaining amount,” he said. At this Dr. Bari assured the chief minister that it would be completed latest by 2026.

CM-Indus-Hospital-Sindh-Courier-1Murad Shah said that he was proud to announce that the hospital would provide free-of-cost treatment and under the latest technology this hospital would operate tele-clinics for the convenience of the poor patients who travel from nook and corner of the province and the country.

Murad Ali Shah recalled that when he was Minister for Revenue under chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Prof Dr. Bari had visited him and told him about some issues of the land meant for the hospital. “Since I was also new in the Revenue department, therefore involved the relevant officers, including Siddique Memon, the former chief secretary, and got the matter solved,” he recalled and went on saying as this is how his relationship with the Indus Hospital started.

The CM said that his government was working with Indus Hospital in Badin where they were running District Headquarters Hospital successfully. “The hospital is so fabulous that people from the entire belt go there for treatment,” he said and urged Dr. Bari of Indus Hospital to take over a few more hospitals in other districts of the hospital and make them state-of-art facilities for the poor people of the areas.

Prof Dr. Bari assured the CM that he would be working with him for the ailing people of the province.

Shah said that he has visited the Blood Transfusion Services facilities and was impressed to witness its latest machines and gadgets.

Prof Dr. Bari also spoke on the occasion and briefed the chief minister about the under-construction hospital.

Earlier, the CM inaugurated Blood Transfusion Services Unit and visited its different departments and facilities and watched functioning of the latest machines installed there. (PR)
