Sujawal Civil Hospital: Medics, Paramedics absent, medicines unavailable

X-ray and Ultrasound machines were out of order since long; Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly pays surprise visit to the hospital; asks health authorities to take action

Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Ms. Rehana Leghari paid surprise visit to Civil Hospital of Sujawal district on Sunday and found doctors and paramedical staff absent from the duty.

During the visit, the patients and their attendants complained to her that the medicines were also not available at the hospital.

According to an official handout, the patients also complained that Ex-ray machine and Ultrasound system was out of order since long while there is no facility available in the labor room.

Deputy Speaker inspected Emergency Ward and other departments of the hospital and resented on pathetic conditions prevailing there. She found that most of the paramedical staff was absent and others were irresponsible in dealing with patients.

Ms. Rehana Leghari noticed that Emergency Ward and other departments lacked basic facilities of treatment. “Despite strict measures taken by the government, the staff had been very irresponsible,” she remarked.

Deputy Speaker, who paid the visit to Civil Hospital on public complaints, assured the people that she will submit report to the Chief Minister so that action could be taken against absentee doctors, paramedics and administration of hospital. (PR)
