Under Village Improvement Project, Thar Foundation has started construction of Pit latrines in different villages including 75 latrines in Bitra village of Block-2, Tharparkar.
Open defecation is widely practiced in Thar which causes several health problems. For better community hygiene, construction of toilets has been started. Last year Thar Foundation constructed 145 latrines in two villages of Block-2. Along with construction of toilets, a behavioral change effort has also been launched concurrently to motivate communities to adopt healthy life practices.
Thar Foundation is implementing its program with the support of Government of Sindh under the umbrella of SECMC. The program aims to positively impact lives of communities in Block-2 and adjoining areas under SDGs Framework. (PR)
