Let’s change inappropriate behavior and provide a favorable environment to transgender community – Training Session

NDF Pakistan with the support of Peace and Justice Network (PJN) organized on Monday a training workshop for the inclusion of transgender community in emergency response.

The officials of various institutions and leaders of civil society organizations participated in large number.

Speaking at the training session, Abid Lashari, Transgender Asif Ali, Ayesha, Sabir Hussain Qureshi, Moazzam Jatoi, Riaz Hussain Shar, Tariq Hussain Chanar, Shahzado Jaskani, Qurban Shah and others said that transgender community is the most vulnerable and deprived of basic rights.

None of civil society and government organizations focused the transgender community during flood response and even didn’t collect statistics. They should pay special attention to them in the emergency situation.

Let’s change inappropriate behavior and provide a favorable environment so that they can participate in every activity of the society on the basis of equality, speakers added.

Government and non-government representatives participating in the process of relief in emergency situations should take care of transgender community.

On this occasion, the participants showed commitment that the neglected community of transgender will be fully included in emergency situations.
