I wonder if any university can teach man the wisdom to remain human, and love god’s creation. If these are lesser arts, then, the first hand art is how to carry out destruction of rivers and mountains. This is worldly wisdom. O, thou who are in search of sanity, retire to mountains, not to dig holes in them, but to pray for thy sins.
Dr. Jernail S. Anand
You will raise a finger at my intelligence and may call me mentally retarded, if not entirely beside my wits, if I say, the real wisdom lives in the forests, where real philosophers live. By that measure, I shall have to call the lambs, the goats, the buffaloes, the cocks and the peacocks as the real philosophers of the earth. And the woman-born like us have to be classed as second rate denizens of mother earth, who have to be given the necessary training to behave like these ‘philosophers’, although we fail in our mission, because, universities and colleges impart them training to live successfully on a lower plane of life, rather than on the higher plane of philosophy at which animals, birds, trees, waters, winds and mountains live.
Earth now stands molested, and assaulted, and the ecological balance badly shaken by rapacious followers of Mammon. And the result is, clouds are bursting, and mountains are falling, and rivers are enraged.
If you feel revolted at my assertions, and are tempted to consider me crazy, just tell me what our Rishis were doing in the forests and on the banks of rivers? Where were Upanishads written? Were they written in Los Angeles? Or even in Texas? Guru Nanak Dev ji, who composed the great verse ‘Japuji sahib’ spent three days in a river called Wein. When he came out, he delivered to us the great spiritual message Japuji Sahib. Wisdom has nothing to do with our schools, colleges and universities, where we are imparted information and knowledge, and it aims at teaching men how to deal with people who believe in that knowledge. It is all a lower kind of knowledge which makes our passage through the world ‘easy’, they say, [but I feel, ‘difficult’]’ Knowledge is a dangerous property of man, those who possess it think they have power over others. And this in itself is a dicey equation. One versus the Other. Knowledge ranges a few who know against multitudes who do not know, bringing an imbalance in human society. Perhaps, this is the fundamental rock of injustice in our society.
The animals’ kingdom knows some basic virtues and their wisdom lies in the fact that to teach this wisdom, they do not need universities.
The animal kingdom and the vegetational universe possess the wisdom which is needed for survival, and the conduct of their affairs. They do not need a long training as men do, to learn the arts of survival. In fact, nature’s systems are highly refined, and they understand by word of mouth, or gestures, what they are required to do under emergencies, whereas we humans have huge paraphernalia to teach emergency behavior to our human counterparts. The animals’ kingdom knows some basic virtues and their wisdom lies in the fact that to teach this wisdom, they do not need universities. Universities are needed for human beings, who are comparatively less endowed than animals, in matters of intuition and understanding. The more weak a person mentally is, the more aids are needed for him to understand simple theorems. And, in case of human beings, you can see the failure rate. How many pass the test of humanity? Or, are they not taught humanities at all? Then, at what are they best? Inhumanity, cruelty, revenge, violence, aggression, mass murders and destruction? Is this that we are teaching them in our training centers? These centers appear to be world class, because they do no lack in these arts. I feel our universities have aggravated their mental retardom as a result of which, the failure rate is on the upswing.
Living and Earning a Living
These men, who are trained in universities and colleges, are at the most taught how to earn a living. They are not told how to live. How to be useful to others. How to help God in running his administration. These sides of their personalities are clogged. They see none but themselves, and work for none but themselves. And to add insult to injury, they do not perform their job well. They are easily corruptible, so that whatever little they are doing, turns sour. Instead of God, they become consorts of Devil and, here, they perform to perfection.
So much water has flowed down the Don, and even the Ganges, still, the world of God, the nature, stands incorruptible. No animal, no bird, nor no tree can be bribed to bunk their job. Lustus, a scion of Satan, tried to create a ‘homovid vaccine’ with the help of which he wanted to impart human qualities of hoarding and jealousy to animals and birds. But the project failed because nature is still too powerful for man, that it cannot be bribed, nor corrupted.
Universities are needed for human beings, who are comparatively less endowed than animals, in matters of intuition and understanding.
I started with calling the objects of nature as philosophers, because they hold the wisdom of centuries which men have bypassed. Men have hired the bullet train of knowledge, and to lay its rails, they have driven holes in the mountains, and destroyed the rivers. Earth now stands molested, and assaulted, and the ecological balance badly shaken by rapacious followers of Mammon. And the result is, clouds are bursting, and mountains are falling, and rivers are enraged. If this virus spreads further, where will man go? If the earth decides not to support him, what will be the fate of humanity? The ecological disasters are the result of man’s ‘wisdom’, which is no more than super knowledge. They are trying to create man in a new avatar, superimposing the AI. But, nature and gods do not support such gimmicks. Man will come to grief if he does not listen to divine warnings.
Instead of cutting the trees, destroying the rivers, and colonizing mountains, man must learn the art of humility and reverence to these nature’s assets, which assure life. I wonder how knowledge can be miscarried to create a situation in which man does not understand that he is endangering his own life by pursuing his futile plans. Who has made man scheme against nature? And he who schemes against nature, ends up scheming against himself.
