VC Dr. Fateh Marri calls upon alumni to help SAU by donating books, scientific equipment and offering scholarships to students

Tandojam: Mr. Ghulam Sarwar Soomro, a former student of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam and retired Chief of Agricultural Policy Institute of National Food and Agricultural Research of Pakistan, has donated 500 books and journals on agriculture for the Central Library of Sindh Agriculture University.

A simple book donation ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office on Monday, where Ghulam Sarwar Soomro handed over the books to the Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri.

Dr. Fateh Marri said that Sindh Agriculture University is faced with financial difficulties nowadays, so the alumni of the university can help the students in books, scientific instruments and scholarships, and this process will be an expression of their love for their own mother institution.

He said that the alumni should play their role to overcome the current financial dilemma and help students in various fields, and added that the books and journals donated by Ghulam Sarwar Soomro would be kept in the Central Library of the University for the students. “These books will help the students in the field of national and international agriculture economics and technical knowledge.”

Soomro told that these national and international journals and books would prove very helpful to the students.

Prof. Dr. Bachal Bhutto, Librarian Ghulam Hyder Joyo and other officials of the administrative departments of the university were also present on the occasion. (PR)
