Kyrgyzstan people strongly demand the immediate closure of all mining companies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek

The residents of Kyrgyzstan have extended a petition asking the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) to impose sanctions on companies engaged in crypto currency mining on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The petition also includes a request to impose personal restrictive measures on Alexey Shirshov. The corresponding document was published on the global platform for public campaigns, Change.org.

According to the document, the residents of Kyrgyzstan are asking for sanctions to be imposed on companies engaged in cryptocurrency mining on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The document states that they unjustly use state networks (substations, power lines, electrical equipment) and state electricity, as reported by Economist.kg.

“Our lands and resources suffer from the illegal activities of mining farms that wear out our state networks and lead to ecological and economic problems. These companies operate on an industrial scale, using state electricity and diverting water reserves to reservoirs, leading to widespread power outages and further deterioration of the economic activity of the population,” the petition says.

Furthermore, the document outlines a request to impose personal sanctions against Alexey Shirshov, who, according to their information, has been systematically destroying the energy sector of the Kyrgyz Republic since 2008, employing fraudulent schemes within the energy sphere through his team.

“Therefore, we strongly demand the immediate closure of all mining companies on the territory of Kyrgyzstan that violate the law on the rights of indigenous peoples to use and control resources. We also demand the closure of all intermediary companies in the energy sector that manipulate energy permits for their private interests. We hope that you will take our appeal into account and take the necessary measures to protect our country and its resources,” the document states.

Additionally, the petition includes a list of companies that mine cryptocurrency in Kyrgyzstan using state networks and state electricity – these are “MBT-Stroy,” “Solarcoin,” and Computer Power Center.
