PSP warns of protest throughout Waseb if the payment of compensation is delayed. Party leadership visits flood-stricken areas of Waseb

Pakistan Siraiki Party (PSP) has demanded that the flood stricken families should be provided Rs.2 million per family to restore their normal lives, and warned that if government delays this compensation, PSP will continue protesting throughout waseb.

The demand was made after a detailed visit by the PSP leaders to the affected areas.

Pakistan Siraiki Party delegation comprising Chairperson Dr. Nukhbhah Taj Langah, Central President Allah Nawaz Wains, Senior VP – Allama Iqbal Waseem, Provincial president Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Langah, Sarwat Sahar – President Women’s Wing (Advocate), Javeed Channar (Advocate) – Deputy Secretary General, Vice president Allah Wasaya khan visited the flood impacted areas of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Jampur and Fazilpur this week.

Prior to the visit a protest demonstration was staged against the lack of government support for flood-stricken families at Chowk Kacheri Multan. A second protest was organized by DG Khan Unit President Allah Wasaya Langah, and senior leaders including Abdul Majeed Khan and Dr. Ahsan Ahmed Chingvani.

The delegation later visited the flood-stricken areas in the peripheries of DG Khan and Jampur. They distributed ration packs amongst various flood-stricken families to provide them humble support. The delegation then proceeded to Jampur where Sarwat Sahar Advocate had organized a briefing for the delegation followed by an interaction with flood affectees in the region. The delegation was joined by senior party cadre Ghulam Fareed Sarajani who was provided with support for his community in Rajapur.

The final stop of the delegation was at Fazilpur Khaima Basti organized by Siraiki cultural organization named ‘Sojhal Dhartivas which was pioneered by Engineer Shahnawaz Mashoori. The organization has made relentless effort to come forward and serve thousands of residents who have lost their homes.

Talking to PSP delegation, Mashoori informed that his organization was independently supporting the community since July when the flood had ruined this region. The government has not provided any support until today and ‘Sojhal Dharti Was’ has self-sufficiently been providing free shelter, food and medical facilities to thousands of people with the private efforts of local intellectuals and activists. PSP delegation offered their support to Mashori and paid tribute to his team’s relentless efforts.

Talking to media, PSP leadership said that their units were actively participating in the flood relief camps set at Bahwalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. They assured support in Waseb during these testing times. (PR)
