Ms. Lee Min Sook, a poet and pianist from South Korea, shares her poem
Lee Min Sook, hailing from Korea, the Land of Morning Calm, is a pianist, poet, essayist and lyricist. She serves as the Chairperson of the Dante Literary Association and is the publisher of Oseon Literary Publishing. She is also a board member of the Korean Writers’ Association and the Korean Modern Poets Association. In addition, she serves as the Chief Judge of the Seoul Citizens’ Literary Award and as an editorial writer for Media Korea. She has received numerous honors, including the Grand Prize at the 9th Maeheon Yun Bong-gil Literary Awards. Poet Lee Min Sook has published four poetry collections, including Walking on the Staff, and has contributed to more than thirty literary journals and writers’ anthologies.
The Light That Leads Me
Behind me, a light
Fear takes flight,
And brightness fills its place.
A glow settles at my feet;
The silent street
Knows its grace.
The path grows wide,
Walls give way,
Fingertips find
Another hand, another mind.
Thoughts of harmony cross the sea,
And hearts grow calm,
Soft and free.
Though the light speaks not a word,
It lifts the fallen,
Tender and unheard.
The grace of a single flame
Calls peace by name.
In the dark,

나를 이끄는 빛
나를 이끄는 빛등 뒤에 한 줄기 빛
두려움은 날아가고
그 자리에 밝음이 스며든다.
발끝에 내려앉은 빛,
고요한 거리도
그 은총을 안다.
길은 넓어지고
벽은 무너진다.
손끝은 닿는다
또 다른 손, 또 하나의 마음에.
화합의 생각은 바다를 건너고
마음은 평온해진다,
부드럽고 자유롭게.
그 빛은 말하지 않지만
넘어진 이들을 일으킨다,
조용히, 다정하게.
작은 불꽃 하나의 은혜가
평화를 부른다.
어둠 속에서,
떨리는 불씨 하나가
하늘을 물들이고
희망이 높이 떠오른다.
그리고 모든 것은 시작된다
우리 안의 빛으로부터.
