Government will work to include the subject of archives and archaeology in the curriculum – Sindh Information Minister

Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Friday that the provincial government will work to include the subject of archives and archaeology in the curriculum.

“The aim of incorporating this subject in the curriculum would be providing the new generation with a comprehensive understanding of the past,” he said during his visit to the ongoing exhibition organized by the Archives Department at the Archives Complex in Clifton, Karachi.

The exhibition was organize to commemorate the International Archives Day under the slogan ‘We Preserve our Past for Future’.

Sharjeel Inam Memon reviewed the collection of ancient publications, rare books and newspapers, journals, maps, personal collections, manuscripts, old Commissioner’s record etc. preserved in the archives complex.

Minister emphasized the importance of such exhibitions for the younger generation. He stressed the need for the youth to comprehend the endeavors of their ancestors.

Sharjeel Memon urged authorities to take measures ensuring the participation of students from schools, colleges, and universities in these exhibitions. (PR)
