U.S envoy Mark Stroh meets VC, discusses promotion of education and research at the university
VC Dr. Khalil Ibupoto seeks U.S help for establishing certain centers at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur

U.S Consul General at Karachi Mr. Mark Stroh, who visited Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Wednesday and held meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto and other officials of university, shared his views on promotion of education and research.
Talking to the participants, Mr. Mark Stroh said Pakistan and U.S share strong mutual relations. “The U.S, in collaboration with Pakistan, has launched several projects in the development fields i.e. education, health, energy and other important sectors,” he said.
U.S envoy said Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur is one of the premier educational institutes of Upper Sindh.
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto appreciated the U.S Government’s support in the establishment of institute of Education at the SALU campus, Lincoln corner at the Sachal Sarmast Library Khairpur and Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Library in Larkana, running English Access Micro scholarship Program for students from under-served areas of Sindh province, awarded university partnership program, exchanges, Fulbright Scholarships, free & quality advising support through the United States Education Foundation Pakistan (USEFP) and establishing more than 106 schools under the USAID funded SBEP program in Northern part of Sindh province.
The Vice Chancellor also presented certain proposals regarding establishing some centers at the university and the Consul General assured to try to establish these centers.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts & Languages, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Qasid Hussain Mallah, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Chandio, Dr. Masihullah Jatoi Dr. Khalida Mahar, Dr. Agha Nadia, Dr. Fouzia Siyal, Ishrat Ali Mirani, Col. Ataullah Khokhar, Director Security Affairs, and Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies were present.
The Vice Chancellor presented the Consul General the traditional Sindhi Ajrak and other gifts. Dr. Agha Nadia presented her book to Consul General.
