An international trade center was opened in the Uzbek city of Termez on the border with Afghanistan, according to the press service of the Uzbek government.
“The International Trade Center ‘Termez’ is intended to create a favorable business environment and logistics, simplify administrative procedures, and create conditions for entrepreneurs,” the statement says.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, Acting Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan, Nazarbek Malaev, and others.
It is noted that by decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Afghan and Pakistani citizens are granted the right to lease property at this center. Additionally, as an exception, they can purchase retail stores, buildings, and facilities intended for services and production.
In the free trade zone of the International Trade Center “Termez,” transactions can be conducted using rubles, yuan, US dollars, and euros. Entry into the center is allowed through a special corridor without a visa for up to 15 days.
