Sindhi Kavi Sammelan is being telecast to mark Cheti Chand and Sindhi Language Day

The Doordarshan Bhopal TV will telecast on Wednesday April 10 (Today) a Special Kavi Sammelan to mark the Cheti Chand, the new Sindhi year and the day when Sindhi language was granted constitutional status in 1967 and is celebrated every year as Sindhi Language Day.
The Kavi Sammelan (Mushaero) will be aired at 3pm IST. The Kavi Sammelan was recorded recently at the Door Darshan headquarters in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh state.
A number of Sindhi poets were invited to participate in the Kavi Sammelan. The poets were Neelesh Gangwani, Dev Arjwani, Nari Lachhwani, Parso Nathani, Kanayo Shewani, Bharti Asdani, Sameeksha Lachhwani and Mohit Shewani.
The one-hour program will start with the song of Goverdhan Bharti sung by young artist Neelesh Gangwani. The program has been conducted by Mohit Shewani, a popular artist of Bhopal.
The news of Sindhi Kavi Sammelan was warmly received by Sindhi community, who has been demanding a Sindhi TV channel. Eminent writer and activist Asha Chand has been raising voice since long for getting the demand accepted by the Indian government but so far no response has been received from the government.
