A dozen documentaries and about two dozen music videos will be screened besides showing interviews and talks of film directors, producers and artists
Karachi: Cinego Shorts, a global digital platform based in Karachi, is celebrating World Music Day 2021 to explore visually what music means to the people as storytellers. The event will take place online from June 19 – 21, 2021 and will be accessible and free to watch globally.
On June 19, a documentary ‘The Journey Within’ will be screened online. The documentary has been directed by Mian Adnan Ahmed. This documentary is about the coke studio origin. On second day June 20, another Pakistani short movie ‘Indus Blues’ will be played which is directed by Jawad Sharif. The documentary is about the diverse cultures and music of Indus valley.
Besides these two Pakistani documentaries, ten documentaries and other short fiction movies with music themes will be screened on all the three days. These movies include ‘Spit on my stage’ of South Korea, ‘Listen to me’ of France, ‘Overbooking’ from Spain, ‘Jesse Jams’ from Canada, ‘Taenagu’ from Thailand, ‘The Troubled Troubadour’ of South Korea, ‘Rule of 3’ from Spain, ‘Endless Love’ from Brazil, ‘A Millennial Singer’ from Italy, ‘The Letter’ from UK, and a film “Huellas del Alma / Footmarks of the Soul”, about 25-year career of renowned Spanish singer Rafa Bocero.
The 3-day online event also includes playing of around two dozen music videos of the world artists and the discussions with film directors, producers and artists.
A not-for-profit organization – Cinego Shorts is a global digital platform, initiated in 2021 with the sole purpose of bringing forth the art of independent cinema and visual arts worldwide. This will eventually foster a community of artists and storytellers, coming together to intrigue the world with their inspiring stories.
This digital platform will feature screening sessions of thematic events, filmmakers and artists interviews to cultivate knowledge and appreciation of visual arts globally.
