Chief Justice SHC also summons Hyderabad Civil Hospital MS on Feb 22

Baby was raped on Feb. 17 by 19-year accused Ayaz Panhwar who was arrested and confessed having committed the crime

Baby and her parents were shifted to Hyderabad hospital as no treatment facility was available in Dadu but were discharged from Hyderabad also without taking proper care

Dadu: Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Mr. Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh has taken suo moto notice of 4-year baby’s rape case and summoned Deputy Commissioner Dadu, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dadu and Medical Superintendent of Hyderabad Civil Hospital on Monday 22 February.

A 4-year baby Afshan, daughter of Muhammad Mosa Panhwar, was allegedly raped by 19-year boy in Gulshan Hafeez Colony of Chano Shah Abad area of Dadu city on Wednesday. The B-section police and Women Police had arrested the accused Ayaz Panhwar within few hours and the victim baby was admitted at city’s civil hospital.

Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh has taken notice over complaint of victim baby’s parents. Heirs of victim baby had alleged that neither proper medical care was not given nor proper diet was provided and were forced to leave hospital.

Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh has also directed District and Sessions Judge of Dadu to send separate report of baby’s rape case.

On Friday, Senior Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Ashraf Dahraj had inspected hospital management and facilities and directed Civil Surgeon to provide all facilities to baby.

4-year baby’s rape case- SHC summons DC SSP Dadu - Sindh CourierDeputy Commissioner Dadu Samiullah Niasr Shaikh and SSP Ajaiz Ahmed Shaikh also had visited civil hospital Dadu and inquired about hospital facilities from baby’s heirs. On that occasion SSP Dadu said that police is sincerely working on case.

DC Dadu said that baby’s condition is better and we have discharged them over parents’ wish.

Later, SSP Dadu Aijaz Shaikh visited crime scene at accused person’s house where police have seized some house articles.

Meanwhile, sources told that lady doctor has given a medical certificate to health officials that baby was molested by accused unnaturally.

SSP Dadu Aijaz Shaikh had informed the media that police have arrested accused Ayaz Panhwar and FIR under Anti-Terrorism Act had been lodged.

Victim bay’s mother Azeeman Shahani had told that her daughter was playing in street when accused Ayaz picked her and committed rape.

The victim baby earlier shifted to Hyderabad Civil Hospital for further treatment as no proper equipment and treatment facilities were available at Dadu civil hospital.

On Thursday Dadu police had produced the accused in Anti-Terrorism Court in Naushahro Feroze where police got six-day remand of accused for interrogation.

In Dadu, the B-section police brought accused Ayaz in civil court for recording statement where the accused confessed before the first class magistrate that he had committed rape with baby and requested that he should be forgiven. Later, accused was shifted to B-section police in tighten security.

Due to fear, the family of accused has left the house to unknown location.

Speaking to Sindh Courier, child rights activist Niaz Chandio told that three such cases were reported in Dadu within three months while last year 11 women were allegedly raped and 8 boys were molested.

Legal Aid Plus lawyer Fahad Dawich said that due to non-implementation of law such cases are increasing in Sindh, especially in Dadu.
