Icy chill in the Spine

Four lions stood back to back

The ancient third century image

Serves a nation finding freedom

Power courage confidence pride

Three lions as nation’s emblem

Images morph/ crowds loving it

Abrupt graph of mind’s upsurge

The mild meek patience

The poise in the manner

The strength to survive

The hostility of enemy

To frighten the wrong

To rescue the victims

Its might for the right

Not metafiction this

Nor a fake projection

Living along for long in solation

Multiplying in secret hibernation

Rama has a stern look

Hanuman looks in rage

Flags are waved around

Compassion a memory

Cruelty dipped slogans

In the air hatred heard

Three lions are shown

Fangs in anger appear

Wait not at your doors

Would rather be ready

To storm the privacy

Drag out of the homes

Icy chills in the spine

Me and you are mine

Nine times nine are eighty one

Blood fears not bullet in a gun

Metal ice clinking in a glass of wine

Smiles fight secret battles in mind

Time trembles in the space behind.
