Abu Dhabi
Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, the Al Dhafra Arabian Horse Championship 2024, taking place from 18th-21st January 2024 on Al Mirfa Corniche, Al Dhafra Region, is set to kick off on Thursday.
Organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, the Al Dhafra Arabian Horse Championship 2024 will see the participation of 550 horses and over 430 owners.
The Arabian horse is the oldest purebred horse breed in the world with ancient roots in the Arabian Peninsula. With its distinctive head shape and high tail carriage, the Arabian is prized for its speed, stamina, beauty, intelligence, and gentleness. Its breeding is a carefully preserved art, preserved by a whole sector of professionals: owners, breeders, trainers and artisans.
For the first time outside of France, the World Horse Championship was held in Qatar in 2023 and now will be held again in 2025. The World Arabian Horse Championship is the pinnacle of year-round Arabian horse shows and competitions taking place across the world. For the first time, Qatar was chosen as the venue for this year’s celebration of the ancestral beauty of Arabian horses.
The annual event brings together more than 100 horses from over 25 countries, plus around 2,000 attendees of horse owners, breeders and other equestrian professionals.
