Last night’s exhibition at ArtforumUAE was a testament to the diversity and dynamism of the global art scene. With the theme Art Without Borders the exhibition by ArtforumUAE has officially opened, bringing together over 20 talented artists from 10 different countries for a vibrant celebration of global creativity. Held at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha on Sunday, 11th May, the event is a visual feast, showcasing a wide array of artworks that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries. From striking acrylics to abstract mixed-media pieces, the exhibition is a testament to the universal language of art, connecting diverse perspectives and celebrating the power of artistic expression.
Celebrating Art: A Night of Creativity at Artforumuae Exhibition
Last night’s exhibition at Artforumuae (curated by the founder of the Art Forum UAE Peter Gressman) was a testament to the diverse and dynamic world of contemporary art. It was a night that brought together the works of several talented artists from around the globe, each showcasing their unique perspectives and mastery of various mediums. The event was not just an art show; it was a celebration of creativity, imagination, and cultural exchange. Here’s a glimpse of the incredible artists whose works graced the walls of Artforumuae:
Shanili Saha from India presented her piece Poetry and Pieces, a mixed-media work that combined depth and intricacy. Her art captured the delicate nuances of human emotion, inviting the audience to engage with each fragment of her creative expression.
Qureysh Basrai, a name familiar to art enthusiasts, contributed three striking pieces: Amber, Sapphire, and Laila and Manjoo. His works, whether through the rich tones of acrylic or the emotive brushstrokes on canvas, displayed his ability to create captivating narratives through color and form. Each piece told a story, with Laila and Manjoo evoking a sense of timeless romance and tragedy.
The colorful, vibrant works of Brijesh Utahpay were a highlight of the evening. His Colorful Horse series, a stunning collection of five paintings, invited attendees to embrace the beauty of abstract expression. Using acrylics on canvas, Utahpay’s artwork spoke to the vibrancy of life, drawing the viewer into its energetic rhythms.
Nelia Fabia brought a touch of the fantastical to the exhibition with her paintings Flying Elephant and Riding Elephant. Her acrylic works offered a playful yet profound interpretation of imagination and the connection between nature and fantasy.
The expressive works of Benaz Zohouri, including Beauty of a Woman and Rumi Dance, drew admiration for their use of gold leaf and acrylic, blending classical beauty with contemporary techniques. Zohouri’s art illuminated the soul, conveying emotions that resonate with viewers long after they have left the gallery.
Herve Alexandre brought a unique touch to the exhibition with his newspaper art, including My Friend Ana and Tribute to Rukni. Through his creative manipulation of everyday materials, Alexandre offered a reflection on the world around us, turning something as common as newspaper into a profound work of art.
Eva Heusel displayed her incredible versatility through her series of abstract paintings, each one exploring the fluidity of acrylic on canvas. Works such as Abstract 1 and Abstract Landscape 4 resonated with those in search of visual interpretations of emotion and the ever-changing landscape of the human experience.
The works of Vikrant Karyakarte sparked intrigue with his series of Sringar and Bird paintings. Each piece, painted in vibrant acrylics on canvas, was a celebration of nature, color, and the beauty found in the smallest moments of life.
The evocative works of Ahmed Al Awadhi (Rukni), particularly Happiness 1 and Greace, were a highlight for many, with his acrylic pieces delving into the themes of emotion, hope, and the complexities of the human spirit.
Eman El Hakim brought a mix of symbolic and abstract art to the exhibition, with works like The Man in Coffee Cup and Cleoprata. Her mixed-media pieces offered rich textures and meanings, inviting viewers to explore deeper layers of personal and cultural significance.
Sibel Yavuz captivated the audience with her stunning acrylic paintings, including You Are the Light and Spring. Her works were an exploration of light, hope, and the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.
The night also featured a piece by Fatemeh Sayyar, whose The Eyes of the Sovereign took center stage with its intricate blend of jewel embroidery and miniaturist painting. This work stood as a symbol of cultural heritage, blending Persian art traditions with contemporary flair.
Elahe Baghaie, with her Balance Triptych, brought a sense of harmony and unity to the exhibition. Her mixed-media approach offered a delicate balance between colors, textures, and meanings, leaving viewers with a lasting sense of peace.
The exhibition also featured some known and vibrant artists of the UAE and international art scene like Swarmin Moon, Avigyan Bahttachharya, Shala Mojarradi, Elwin Herbert Buechel, Elwin Herbert Buche, Heike Kolles, Almudena Spain, Érica Nogueira, Dani Schuller de Toledo, Elisabeth Wortsman, Gisele Faganello, Adélia Clavien, Lenny Lopes, Anjini Prakash Laitu, and Shirley Jeff.
As the evening came to a close, guests were left in awe of the artists’ talent and creativity. The exhibition was a true celebration of global art, bridging cultures and showcasing the power of visual expression.
