Chinese Company awarded Sanitation Contract for Sukkur

120 machines and 493 sanitation staff will be used to collect garbage from the four zones of Sukkur

Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and a Chinese Company Chongqing Endurance-Shanmaywa Industry Limited have signed an agreement for door-to-door collection of garbage in Sukkur and Rohri cities. The company will launch its operation from March 1, 2023.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Imtiaz Ali Shah, Managing Director SSWMB and Chinese Company’s official Mr. Zhang Fenglin. Chinese official Mr. Xia Xiaolin, Secretary SSWMB secretary Naseemuddin, Executive Director Operations Tariq Nizamani, Executive Director Finance Dadlo Zahrani, Director M&E Sabir Shah and others were present.

As per agreement, the Chinese Company will start working from Rohri Zone. There are four zones in Sukkur – Municipal Committee Rohri, Old Sukkur, Newc Sukkur and Taluka-II which produce 401 ton garbage every day. The Chinese Company will use 120 machines to collect the filth and ensure cleanliness in Sukkur. The machinery to be used include compacters, mechanical sweepers, mini dumpers etc. while the number of sanitation staff would be 493.

MD, SSWMB Imtiaz Shah hoped that the work would be started as per specified time and international standards. (PR)
