Chief Secretary asks industrialists to get their workers vaccinated; warns of punitive action in case of non-compliance   

Karachi: Some 11, 06, 384 people have been vaccinate against coronavirus at 285 vaccination centers established by Sindh Health Department across the province.

The data was shared in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah at Sindh Secretariat on Wednesday. The meeting was briefed on implementation of Corona Virus SOPs, vaccination campaign and control over prices of essential commodities.

The meeting was attended by all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners including Senior Member Board of Revenue Allamuddin Bullo.

Various Deputy Commissioners said that they have completed vaccination of their subordinate revenue staff and now employees of other departments will also be vaccinated against the Corona virus.

Chief Secretary directed that the number of vaccines should be increased and more vaccine centers should be set up in the province. He said that all industrialists and traders should vaccinate their workers against coronavirus and the government is also setting up vaccination centers in industrial areas.

He said that the sectors which did not vaccinate the workers would be closed.

Chief Secretary directed all the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to strictly implement the SOPs and said that the orders issued by the Home Department should be strictly followed and action should be taken against the violators.

He directed the Commissioner Karachi and Commissioner Hyderabad to strictly enforce the laws relating to prices of essential commodities and said that the prices fixed by the government should be implemented effectively. He directed them to take strict action against profiteers and hoarders.

519 Jobs approved on Deceased Quota  

Chief Secretary also presided over another meeting on implementation of deceased quota. Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Anti-Corruption and other secretaries participated in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah said that 5846 jobs have been approved on deceased quota from the year 2019 till now. The meeting approved 519 jobs in different departments out of which 17 are in Agriculture Department and 31 in Board of Revenue, 13 in College Education, 2 in Anti-Corruption, 1 in Excise, 7 in Forest, 45 in Health and 32 in Home Department, 2 in Commerce, 1 in Information, 58 in Irrigation, 40 in Local Government, 3 in Public Health Engineering, 222 in school education, 10 in services general administration and 35 jobs in work and services.

Instructing all the secretaries, the Chief Secretary said that the salaries of the cases approved by the committee should be released. He sought a report from all the Deputy Commissioners regarding district recruitment committee (DRC) meeting. (PR)
