Over 200 Kits containing masks, sanitizer, soap and hand-wash were distributed in Hatri area among the general public
Hyderabad: Assistant Commissioner Hyderabad (Rural) Ms. Qandeel Fatima Memon distributed kits, containing the masks, sanitizer, hand-wash and soap, among the general public for their safety and creating awareness about the Covid-19 in Hatri area on Friday.
While distributing the kits, she told the every recipient that use of these things will help them staying safe and keeping safe other around.
“I distributed over 200 kits in a day and will distribute in all areas of Taluka Hyderabad on daily basis,” Qandeel Fatima told Sindh Courier and added that at least 1000 kits will be distributed.
“I wanted to meet and ask the people to use masks, sanitizers and soap as preventive measure against the pandemic which is fast spreading in Hyderabad,” she said.
Earlier in the day, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch had held meeting with officials of all the concerned departments and had directed to ensure strict implementation of SOPs in markets and busy business places which are overcrowded.
He had directed the concerned officers to inform the people about the vaccine against the coronavirus.
He said that awareness should be created among the people to ensure social distancing besides use of masks and sanitizers.
He also directed Vice Chancellor LUMHS Dr. Bekha Ram, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro and DHO Hyderabad to convene a meeting to plan for the prevention of Covid-19. The Health Department officials gave detailed information to the Commissioner about the problems faced by them. He assured them that all their problems would be addressed on priority basis.
It was suggested in the meeting that in view of the spread of Coronavirus, the Sindh government should be requested to stop supplying oxygen to the industries for time being so that they would not face oxygen shortage in any kind of emergency.
Baloch also directed to take steps to release the test results of Corona virus by the same evening.
Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro informed that to ensure implementation of SOPs, masks were distributed among the worshipers with the help of Army by visiting mosques in different parts of Hyderabad on Friday while entrances and exits of mosques were also got sprayed. He added that awareness pamphlets had also been distributed.
