Government should take steps to provide facilities to flood affectees, drain water from their lands, give easy loans for seeds and fertilizers, and reestablish transport means.

In the monsoon rainfalls of 2022, Sindh, Balochistan and Southern Punjab are severely affected. In Sindh and Balochistan, the situation is worse than usual. Flood-hit people have suffered a lot. Their crops are spoiled due to flooding, livestock perished, and houses are destroyed. Now, in the cold nights of winter, they are dying of cold under the open sky without warm clothes and blankets.

Till now, water hasn’t drained from the lands and farmers can’t cultivate their winter crops. They don’t have any resources to make ends meet. According to a United Nations report, 33 million people are affected by the flooding. Approximately 3.5 million children are disrupted from their education. Government should take steps to provide facilities to flood affectees, drain water from their lands, give easy loans for seeds and fertilizers, and reestablish transport means.
