Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam and its affiliated colleges also celebrate Independence Day
Hyderabad: Like other parts of the country, the 74th Independence Day was celebrated in Hyderabad with zeal and national fervor on Saturday. The entire city roads and main buildings were decorated with national flags.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the premises of HDA Secretariat, Hyderabad where Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch, DIG Hyderabad Sharjeel Ahmed Kharal and Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro hoisted the national flag.
In his address on this occasion, Commissioner Baloch said that every Pakistani has to play role for the development and prosperity of the country.
He said that we got independence with the great sacrifices of our forefathers and we should value this independence.
Paying homage to the martyrs of Pakistan Army, Rangers and Police, he said that they are our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country and we are proud of them.
Baloch appealed to the people to support the administration in its efforts to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and to ensure strict implementation of SOPs and get vaccinated and use masks.
Addressing the ceremony, DIG, Hyderabad, Sharjeel Ahmed Kharal paid homage to the martyrs and heroes of Pakistan Movement and said that the purpose of celebrating Independence Day was not only to show patriotism but also to learn from the sacrifices of our forefathers. “We would not hesitate to sacrifice our lives as independence was a blessing”.
Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro in his address congratulated the Pakistanis on Independence Day and appealed to the people to get vaccinated against Coronavirus. He said that as a Pakistani we should work hard for the development of our city, province and the country.
Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch, DIG Hyderabad, Sharjeel Ahmed Kharal and DC Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro hoisted the flag. The national anthem was played on this occasion.

After the flag-hoisting ceremony, Commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch along with other officers inaugurated the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign by planting sapling in the premises of DG HDA Secretariat.
Later, the Commissioner, DIG and DC Hyderabad also attended the Independence Day ceremony at Public School Hyderabad where after hoisting the flag they planted saplings in the school premises.
They also distributed sweets and other gifts to patients at Sir CJ Hospital, inmates of Central Jail and women and orphans in Darul Aman.
Independence Day celebrated at Sindh Agriculture University
Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam celebrated the country’s independence anniversary with great enthusiasm. A large number of teachers, officers and students attended the ceremony. Students of Bukhari Model High School also participated.
The national flag was hoisted followed by the national anthem. Dr. Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor, Deans, Heads of the Academic and Administrative departments, cut the anniversary cake
Addressing the event, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri said that as a responsible Pakistani we should play our role for the development and honor of the country. He said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and implementation of modern technology in agriculture, research on new verities of crops and breeds of animals, would play a role for making the country economically stable.
Students presented national songs on the occasion. Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar and students also delivered speeches on the Independence Movement.
Dean Dr. Aijaz Ali Khooharo, Dr. Syed Ghiyasuddin Shah Rashdi, Dr. Naimatullah Leghari, Dr. Jan Mohammad Marri, Registrar Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Qureshi, Dr. Abdullah Arijo, Aijaz Soomro, Dr Qamaruddin Jogi, Mohammad Ashraf Rustamani, Anwar Hussain Khanzada, teachers, officers, students and employees were also present.
A ceremony was also held at Khairpur College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; Khairpur Mirs, the constituent college of Sindh Agriculture university Tandojam. Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Keerio, Principal, teachers, heads of academic and administrative departments hoisted the national flag in front of administration block and cake was also cut.
The Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Agricultural College (SZABAC) Dokri, the constituent college of Sindh Agriculture university Tandojam. Dr. Sultan Maitlo, Dr. Haroon Hulio, Abdul Hameed Memon, Shahnawaz Khuhro،, Abdul Razaque Mangi, Kashif Hussain Jatoi Deputy Director Administration,Teachers, heads of academic and administrative departments hoisted the national flag in the front of Administration block and The national anthem was sung with great respect.
