Life Boats – Poetry from Bengal

Ask your mind,

Ask your soul,

Ask every single dot of your existence….

Have your hatred to lament?

Suhina Biswasmajumdar

Life Boats

Feeling sad?

Want to give up?

Decided to quit?

Look….

Listen….

Learn to ask….

Ask your mind,

Ask your soul,

Ask every single dot of your existence….

Have your hatred to lament?

Hey fighter!

Have to fight and save another one,

Soldiers have no choice but to fight and fight and fight

Unuttered cry of the sunken world fades away,

Want to move

Want to save

Want to smash all those hatred of your broken earth.

Think,

Decide and jump

Save…. from the darkest corner

From fear and fantasy of distress

If cant love

Try to show, just to offer a shelter

Leave the rest to Him!

***

The Moon

Love this crescent moon

Looks like my hope and trust and beliefs.

Which have danced with the rhythm of ebb and tide

Night and day

Innocence and indifference

Every new moon whispers

Like the last miracle of the Pandora’s Box

Give that assurance

Someday we’ll get back

Someday our survival state would be over

Someday again we’ll smile and enjoy the naked dance under the moonlit sky

The Innocent siblings of heaven….

***

Fantasy of a Fanatic

If you know Rabindranath you never hug

But embrace

If, by mistake you see Rabindranath, you never watch but perceive

And if you feel him then hardly quit but……

“But ….

But! …. “, They ask

They shout,

They whisper and silence reigns….

Then suddenly a nimbus crackles

Crackles or chuckles

While whisper…. once more….

Is it from Delphi….?

Look … No! Listen….

They chant: “Explore! Explore! Explore!”
