2600 personnel of Security Division including 1000 Special Security Unit commandos and lady commandos, 1800 personnel of Traffic Police, 600 personnel of Special Branch and others are performing duties

A comprehensive fool-proof security plan in connection with the cricket matches starting from 3rd May, 2023 between Pakistan and New Zealand at National Bank Cricket Arena Karachi has been prepared by the Security Division.

The security plan was devised during a meeting presided by DIG Security Dr. Maqsood Ahmed at SSU Headquarters, attended by senior police officers, officials of Pak Army, Sindh Rangers and PCB and all stakeholders.

According to the security plan, more than 6500 personnel will be deployed for the security arrangements. Some 2600 personnel of Security Division including 1000 Special Security Unit (SSU) Commandos and lady commandos, 1800 personnel of Traffic Police, 600 personnel of Special Branch and personnel of district police will and are performing security duties along-with personnel from other law enforcement agencies at Stadium, Karachi Airport, routes, hotels and other different locations, while sharp shooters have also been deployed at sensitive points.

Karachi-Cricket-Security-Sindh-Courier-1A Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team comprising highly trained and well-equipped Commandos will remain alert at SSU Headquarters and patrol in surroundings of the stadium as quick response force to challenge any emergency situation.

SSU’s specialized command & control bus will also be stationed at National Bank Cricket Arena to monitor law & order situation in surroundings of the stadium.

CNG-fitted vehicles and all type of drones are strictly prohibited in the premises of stadium.

All roads will remain open for the commuters except one track of Sir Shah Suleman road.

The following parking points have been allocated for the spectators coming to the National Bank Cricket Arena;

  1. a) China Ground adjacent to the stadium (for General Public)
  2. b) National Coaching Centre adjacent to the stadium (For VIPs only or vehicles having Green Sticker)

Spectators will thoroughly be guided and assisted from parking points to the enclosures by the SSU commandos attired in tracksuits.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPECTATORS

  • Entry for spectators will only be allowed from Gate No. 6 to Gate No. 14.
  • Gate No. 01 to 05 will remain close for the entrance of spectators.

⦁ Every visitor must bring his/her CNIC at the venue to prove their identity.

  • Tickets purchased from Bookme.pk will only be admissible.

⦁ Make sure you reach the stadium early to avoid waiting in long queues.

⦁ Any firearms, toy guns, explosives, firecrackers, cigarettes, matchboxes, lighters, any sharp edge materials like knives and metal/wooden clubs are not allowed inside the stadium.

⦁ Any banner/poster/placard displaying discrimination or obscene remarks on the grounds of race, religion or ethnicity are strictly forbidden.

⦁ Spectators are not allowed to throw any objects on the ground and on the performers and fellow spectators. (PR)
