Rally organized in Hyderabad to mark International Day of Differently Abled Persons

Commissioner Abbas Baloch, who led the rally, calls for developing confidence among Special Children

 Hyderabad

To mark the International Day of Differently Abled Persons, a rally, led by Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch, was organized by five centers of special education & rehabilitation centers for physical disability in the city on Friday December 3.

The participants of the rally marched from Circuit House Hyderabad to Shell Petrol Pump GOR Colony.

The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad addressing to the participants of the rally said that differently abled persons are also part of our society and by giving them little attention and training they could be equally useful and could take part in the country’s development.

He said that sense of deprivation in differently abled persons should be removed and they should be given such confidence that would help them to move forward in future.

He appealed to the teachers of special education & rehabilitation centers not to train these children as a job but to educate and train them as their own children so that they do not become a burden on the society but participate in the development of the country and the nation.

He assured that disabled quota in government departments would be implemented in letter and spirit.

Addressing the rally Deputy Director special education & rehabilitation Munir Ahmed Bhatti and others highlighted the rights of differently abled persons and their problems.

Deputy Director also requested for the issuance of medical cards to the differently abled persons and expansion of rehabilitation centers. (PR)
