3000 Policemen undergo medical checkup and tests of various diseases
Screening Camp was organized in collaboration with Essa Lab and Rotary Club Karachi

Ubauro: A 2-day Screening Camp for the medical checkup of the policemen was organized at District Headquarter Police Line of Ghotki at Mirpur Mathelo on Sunday.
The screening camp was organized in collaboration with Essa Laboratory and the Rotary Club Karachi.
As many as 1200 policemen underwent the medical checkup on first day while 1800 more were to be checked on Monday, the last day. Dr. Farhan Essa inaugurating the camp said that the screening includes the tests of Hepatitis B and C, HIV AIDS, Diabetes and other ailments and the entire cost of the tests, which is about Rs.10000/- per person, is borne by Essa Lab and the Rotary Club.
“We have collected blood samples and in case any disease is diagnosed, the treatment would become possible,” he told.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Umar Tufail said that in case any policeman is diagnosed with any disease, he would be provided treatment facilities.
Deputy Commissioner of Ghotki district Usman Abdullah lauded the services of Essa Lab and Rotary Club for providing medical checkup facilities to the policemen of far flung areas of Ghotki and added that the District Hospital has also provided medicines for the policemen.
Assistant Commissioners of various Talukas of District and notables of the areas also attended the inaugural ceremony of the screening camp.
The policemen, who underwent the tests, told that it was not possible to afford the costly tests from their salaries.
At the end of ceremony, Sindhi cultural gifts of Ajrak were presented to the guests.
