Training courses include Basic Computer Skills, Office Assistant, Customer Service & Sales Assistant and General Electrician. Trainings are being imparted at Islamkot, Mithi and Chhachhro. German govt. is financing the project.

Islamkot, Tharparkar: Thar Foundation and Engro Foundation have jointly started “Skills Training for Entrepreneurship and Paid Employment” (STEP) Project in Tharparkar district with the financial support of German government’s aid agency GIZ and technical support of provincial government’s Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA).

The STEP is a workplace-based training program to impart market skills to 425 Youth including 175 females of Tharparkar. Main objectives of the program are to enhance access to quality skills development opportunities and strengthen engagement of Industry /enterprises and business for local youth.

Training courses include Basic Computer Skills, Office Assistant, Customer Service & Sales Assistant and General Electrician. Trainings are being imparted at Islamkot, Mithi and Chhachhro. The program includes five month classroom-based and one month on-Job- Training/Internship. Participants will also get 2 weeks training on entrepreneurship and micro/small business. The project is in line with National Vocational Qualification Framework.
