3-Day Sindh Livestock Expo 2021 begins on March 13Expo will be held at Hatri Bypass Ground in Hyderabad with participation of livestock owners from across the country

Hyderabad: A 3-day Sindh Livestock Expo 2021 will be organized at Hyderabad from March 13 to 15 to support and build Livestock sector on sustainable basis and boost up economy of the province.

Livestock owners, farmers, growers and agro based tool manufacturers from all over the country will participate in the expo.

The music program will also be planned by Culture and tourism department to entertain the visitors while sports and youth affairs department will arrange camel and horse race in the event.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate the Expo on March 13th whereas Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony on its last day.

Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Eng. Abdul Bari Pitafi presiding over a meeting at Shehbaaz Hall Hyderabad on Monday reviewed the arrangements of Livestock Expo 2021. This Expo is being organized at Hatri Bypass ground of Hyderabad in collaboration with Culture, Sports and Agriculture Departments of Sindh Government.

Minister directed the District Health Officer Hyderabad to chalk out a proper plan to implement SOPs of Covid-19 during the exhibition and said that wearing masks, social distancing and sanitization will be mandatory. He directed the district administration of Hyderabad to ensure all security arrangements and traffic plan for the livestock exhibition.

Commissioner Hyderabad Mohammad Abbas Baloch suggested the Minister to acquire a ground either at Hatri bypass or somewhere else permanently to arrange these events of public interest. Pitafi said that he will talk to higher authorities in this regard.

SSP Hyderabad Abdul Salam Shaikh briefed in detail about the security arrangement and deployment of police personnel during the exhibition days. SSP said that more than 800 police personnel will be deployed for security of event and surveillance activities will be started soon at different checking points of city.

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro assured that district administration will provide all municipal facilities at the ground.

DIG Hyderabad Range Sharjeel Ahmed Kharal, Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, and other officers attended the meeting.

Later, the Minister visited the Expo Ground and reviewed arrangements.

While talking to media he said that this would be the largest event in the country in which farmers across the country are registering. He said that the purpose of the expo is to highlight the importance and usefulness of livestock. He said that this time his department will be showcasing the goats, bulls and other rare species of cattle and poultry birds in the expo.

“This year we are going to exhibit many interesting things related to fisheries in which different types of fish and models of small ponds will also be exhibited,” minister said adding that last year they had exhibited 36 breeds of goats and as a result this time the farmers from other provinces are also showing interest in livestock expo.

He further said that the cattle of Sindh have the ability to survive even in difficult conditions and climate whereas such ability is not found in the cattle of other countries and provinces.
