Bakhtawar Cadet College, the first ever Girls Cadet College in Pakistan, held its 2nd Passing Out parade and Parents Day on Sunday.
Luminaries from all walks of life including a large number of dignitaries, notables, parents, government officials, and heads of institutions attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, Ms. Faryal Talpur, Member Provincial Assembly Sindh and President Women Wing PPP inaugurated 5th cadet hostel named as “Bilqees House” in the memory of late Bilqees Edhi, as recognition of her tremendous social services.
She also witnessed numerous Science Projects and portrayals of Arts created and presented by the cadets during Science and Arts Exhibition.
Dr. Farida Shaikh, Principal and Project Director Bakhtawar Cadet College presented the college report for the Academic Year 2022.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sardar Ali Shah, Education Minister Sindh, said that under the ideology of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, the Sindh government is making efforts to give women more rights on the basis of equality.
He said that after the establishment of Bakhatwar Cadet College Nawabshah, another cadet college has been established in Larkana.
He added that 11 colleges including two girls’ cadet colleges have been established in Sindh in which educational activities are going on while 4 more colleges are under construction.
Principal of the college Dr. Farida Sheikh, while presenting the annual report, said that the Sindh government and the Pakistan Air Force have jointly supported this college and more than 300 cadets are currently studying in the college.
She said, “It’s indeed historic moment for Pakistan that we have changed the stereotype mindsets by successfully producing 2nd Batch of girl cadets in which 55 cadets are successfully graduating.”
“Our cadets have been groomed to perform the leading roles on national and international level competing with the males or working side by side for the prosperity of the country”.
During the colorful ceremony, the cadets presented guard of honor to the distinguished guests, along with gymnastics and PT show.
The special guest Faryal Talpur presented certificates of appreciation to the cadets and college staff who showed outstanding performance, while the principal of the cadet college, Dr. Farida Sheikh, presented the commemorative shield to the special guest.
The Chief Guest presented awards & trophies to the college’s outstanding performers and high achievers.
Cadet Nida Liaquat, Cadet Maria Abbasi and Misha Fatima clinched highest accolades of sword of Honor and Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal respectively.
Similarly, Marui House won the “Champion Trophy”. All the guests enjoyed the remarkable show put up by the girl cadets during various segments including March Past, PT, gymnastic and Karate show and meticulous performance of Khaula’s Contingent named after daring lady warrior of Islam, Syedna Khuala (R.A), which was proudly introduced for the first time in the history by a girls cadet college in Pakistan.
Through these activities these cadets demonstrated courage, boldness and bravery which proves that they are second to none.

Prof. Dr. Salim Raza, Vice Chancellor PUMC Prof. Dr. Gulshan Memon, Additional Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Fayaz Hussain Rahujo, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon, SSP Shaheed Benazirabad Captain (R) Ameer Saud Magsi, parents of the cadets, members of the Board of Governors, high civil and military officials and a large number of other guests attended the ceremony.
