The Seventh Commissioner Cup Boys Basketball Tournament commenced at the ”International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court in Aram Bagh, Karachi on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner South, Captain (R) Altaf Hussain Sario, inaugurated the event and expressed desire for increased sports competitions in Karachi and rest of Sindh.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining open sports fields in the southern district of city for players.
The opening day featured the Soul Tigers Club securing victory over PCB Club with a score of 94-76 points. Key players such as Daniyal Khan Marwat, Ahsan Iqbal, and Imran Zafer made significant contributions to the game.
Notable personalities, including Begum Asma Ali Shah, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Asif Gulfam, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Junaid Ahmed Khan, Fariha Aqib, and Tariq Hussain, attended the event.
The Deputy Commissioner South extended support for sports competitions in the region and announced plans for court decoration before the Sindh Games.
The technical duties were performed by Zahid Malik, Aamir Sharif, and Muhammad Ashraf Yehia as referees, with Zeemah Khatoon, Naeem Ahmed, and Zawalfaqar Abbas Khan as technical officials. (PR)
