A Train Crosses the Desert, the internationally acclaimed first ever short Sindhi film, will be released YouTube on Tuesday March 29, 2022.
“We are finally releasing our acclaimed Sindhi short film ‘A Train Crosses the Desert’ online,” announced Rahul Aijaz, the filmmaker.
“Have been getting requests from people from across the country and many other countries about how/where they can watch the film. Happy to finally share it with everyone,” he said.

The film, produced and directed by Rahul Aijaz, a young filmmaker of Sindh, had so far been screened at ten International Film Festivals since last year including one each in Mexico and Turkey, three in USA, two in India and one in Kazan, Tataristan. It was also screened at about a dozen places In Karachi, Hyderabad and Lahore.
It may be mentioned that hardly one hundred Sindhi movies were produced in country’s history. The Karachi used to be hub of film industry but it gradually vanished when the film industry shifted to Lahore.

The film industry, especially the Sindhi film industry, can develop if the government comes forward and extends financial help to producers and directors. If the film industry is developed, it will absorb a large number of young and talented people of Sindh.
