Let us nurture love anew

A Poem from Thar Desert of Sindh

Leave behind the conflicts of the world, let us nurture love anew,

What good comes from these entanglements? Let us nurture love anew.

Let us nurture love anew

Leave behind the conflicts of the world, let us nurture love anew,

What good comes from these entanglements? Let us nurture love anew.

Those Eids, those Holis—where are ours ever apart?

May the festive gatherings always thrive, let us nurture love anew.

All voices unite as one, singing songs of peace,

The heart longs for us to be together, let us nurture love anew.

Where the soul finds solace, where verses take form,

Why stir up old grievances there? Let us nurture love anew.

These borders, these villages are all ours; we are sons of the same soil,

Why cast our neighborhoods into hatred? Let us nurture love anew.

Just as Sindh is my mother, Sindh is your mother too,

Let us burn the boats of prejudice, let us nurture love anew.
