Night of Storm

A widowed night it was

And rain came in torrents

You could only hear sighs

Like from deathbed

Flashes of lightning

Showed the darkness clear

And an approaching car light

Shredded the falling drops

As I lay by my window side

I remember the night

That forecast a storm

While I had already one inside!
