Pakistan U.S Alumni Network (PUAN) has launched a project on political participation of the persons with disabilities in Local Government.

Abid Lashari Project Coordinator told on Saturday that the plan aims to implement the one percent reserved seats for the disabled persons at the local Government level.

He added that the persons with disabilities are deprived of the decision-making process.

In local governments, only one percent of seats are reserved for the disabled, and due to lack of information and awareness, the youth with disabilities are deprived of getting the seats.

Political parties should encourage the disabled in their political participation and action and ensure their political participation by establishing a wing of the persons with disabilities in the political party.

Tariq Hussain Channar, Lal Chand Lohana, Farooq Bhatti, Asma Munir, Manthar Magsi, Dilamrad Mari and others also spoke on the occasion.
