Secretary, Sindh Information Dept. Rafique Buriro asks officers to ensure provision of all possible facilities to the journalists
Officers asked to use social media platforms beside print and electronic media to ensure disseminate of information
Hyderabad: Secretary, Sindh Information Department, Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro has said that the positive growth of society is linked to free and fair media.
“Media is the fourth pillar of state and plays key role in strengthening the democracy,” he said while presiding over a meeting with officers during his visit to Divisional Directorate of Information Hyderabad on Saturday.
He directed the officers to ensure the provision of all possible facilities to the journalists while performing their professional duties.
Mr. Buriro directed the officers of Information department to work hard and highlight the development initiatives of Sindh Government. “In today’s technological era, the tools of social media are being widely used to disseminate information therefore the information officers should also adopt the social media tools to keep the public well informed timely and project the government activities,” he urged.
The Secretary Information further directed the officers to take efforts for the image building of the government and ensure better publicity of public welfare and development projects initiated by the government as the public can be informed properly. “The officers should use social media platforms beside the print and electronic media to ensure the publicity of the Government,” he emphasized.
Earlier, Director Information Hyderabad Division Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh briefed the Secretary Information regarding the functions, performance and responsibilities of the Directorate.
Later, the Information Secretary visited the newly constructed building of Divisional Directorate of Information Department at Shahbaz Building Hyderabad. Deputy Director Information Shehzad Shaikh, Deputy Director Sahib Khan Bhand, Information Officers Muhammad Yaqub Ibrahim, Alamgeer Ranjhani and other officers were also present on this occasion.
