Hyderabad: Cambridge / O-Level System will be introduced at Public School Hyderabad from August this year to enhance the standard of education at this historic institution.

Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch, who presided over the online meeting of Public School Hyderabad’s Board of Governance in his office at Shahbaz Building on Thursday, informed that for Cambridge / O-Level system, more teachers would be appointed on merit and with the approval of member of governing body.

Commissioner said that the financial problems of Public School Hyderabad were gradually decreasing, which were very upsetting when this school was handed over to IBA Sukkur. “With the cooperation of Sindh government and the hard work and dedication of all the members and stakeholders, today the organization was moving towards self-sufficiency as salaries and pensions of the employees were being paid regularly and now organization had savings of Rs.50 million,” he told.

Baloch further said that in order to encourage teaching and non-teaching staff, their salaries were being increased from March 2021, which would be paid before Eid. “Earlier non-teaching staff was getting low salaries but now Rs.17500 would be paid to them.”

Commissioner said that some time ago in the meeting of the Board of Governance, it was decided that the pension would not be included in the future appointment agreements “If the financial condition of the school improves further then with the approval of the board members, a mechanism could be made in this regard,” he added.

He said that under the MoU signed between Public School Hyderabad, Government of Sindh and IBA Sukkur to enhance the skills and abilities of teachers, it was decided that the teachers who would pass the training of need assessment test would be given conveyance and medical allowance while the said test was being taken twice a year and this year 28 teachers had passed this test.  On this occasion, permission was sought from the Board of Governance for further development works keeping in view the increasing enrollment of Public School Hyderabad.
