International Institute of Central Asia holds a round table on ‘Central Asia: Global Processes and Sustainable Regional Development’

The International Institute of Central Asia in Tashkent held a “round table” on the topic of “Central Asia: Global Processes and Sustainable Regional Development,” with the participation of Russian and Uzbek experts, Sputnik reports.

The experts noted that in recent years, the Central Asian region has been undergoing rapid changes, achieving stability, unity, and international recognition, thanks to the political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

The implementation of a new regional policy has led to the resolution of many disputes, creating conditions for transforming Central Asia into a unified trade, investment, and transportation hub, stated the Acting Director of the International Institute of Central Asia, Fanil Kadyrov.

Today, a stable Central Asia is becoming one of the important centers of investment activity and economic growth, according to Kadyrov.

According to the EADB’s assessment, over the last two decades, the combined GDP of Central Asia has grown more than 8-fold nominally and 4-fold in real terms, reaching $397 billion.

The region continues to experience a significant transformation in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, with several countries actively transitioning towards the economy of the future, potentially bridging the technological gaps between nations and entire regions, Kadyrov noted.

The expert believes that Uzbekistan’s new foreign policy course, initiated by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has effectively rejuvenated relationships within the region.
