Executive Council demands removal of dual-charged Registrar and appointing any senior eligible officer as Registrar to end the chaos

The Executive Council of the Employees Welfare Association Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur has accused varsity administration of violating the principles of merit in promotion of the employees and announced a complete and indefinite pen down strike from Monday.

The pen down strike will continue till the end of the injustices,” the Executive Council announced..

The emergent meeting of Executive Council of the Employees Welfare Association, held on Saturday under the chairmanship of its president Mian Muhammad Murad Pirzada, rejected the administration’s decision with regard to the promotions.

The meeting noted that the selection board meeting was called after six years by the administration and the association had agreed to accept the decisions if the eligible employees are given promotion based on merit.

“However, the Selection Board approved promotions in violation of merit, which are not legal and constitutional in any way, and have been unanimously rejected by the meeting,” a press release said.

SALU-Employees-Meeting-Sindh-CourierThe association decided to hold press conference on this issue at Sukkur Press Club on Sunday to make public unfair promotions and arbitrary decisions of university administration.

The association alleged that the Registrar and other officers of Shah Abdul Latif University were involved in violating the merit and facilitating the illegal promotions.

The meeting also criticized the indecent behavior of the registrar who allegedly pressured the members after the selection board meeting was over.  “Registrar has always made the selection board suspicious by appointing the people he likes, which has brought the institution into disrepute,” office bearers said.

The meeting demanded the immediate removal of Registrar to save the university from further destruction.

The Executive Council demanded to remove the OPS dual-charged Registrar and appointing any senior eligible officer as Registrar to end the chaos.
