Sindh Excise Police seize 140kg Hashish in 2 operations

The accused, who were smuggling hashish to Karachi are said to be residents of Kohat and Khyber Agency.

Sindh Excise Police have foiled the attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs to Karachi and recovered 140 kilograms of hashish in two separate operations, arrested three accused and seized two vehicles used in smuggling.

Hashish-Smugglers-Sindh Courier-1In the first action, the excise team, led by Excise Inspector Qamaruddin Sial, while checking at the Rohri Excise Check Post, recovered 100 kg hashish. The hashish was recovered from Oil Tanker No.C-9176. The accused Sardar Akbar Afridi has been arrested and a case has been registered and investigations are underway. The tanker used in smuggling has also been impounded.

Hashish-Smugglers-Sindh Courier-2Hashish-Smugglers-Sindh Courier-3In the second operation, Excise Inspector Hassan Ali Dashti along with his team conducted the operation at Ubaro Excise Check Post on Sindh Punjab Border Kamboh Shaheed National Highway. Forty kilogram hashish was recovered from car number AMH-024 while two accused Ayaz Raza and Muhammad Younis have been arrested and a case has been registered against them. The accused are said to be residents of Kohat and Khyber Agency. Investigation is underway. (PR)
