Sindh government has plans to initiate a public taxi service in the near future, said Minister of Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference at the Archives Complex in Clifton, Karachi, he said that the Sindh government is actively working to introduce additional new buses in the public transport sector to facilitate public.
Minister also spoke on current political developments taking place in the country.
To a question, he said that Shah Mehmood Qureshi has a history of changing parties quickly, but currently he is patiently waiting for Imran Khan to be disqualified so that he becomes the chairman of PTI.
He further stated that the role of the parliament is to make laws, while the responsibility of implementing those laws lies with other institutions.
He also emphasized that if any judge were to display bias, they would be subject to criticism. He stated that individuals involved in subversive activities would be treated in accordance with the law.
Clarifying his point, he provided examples such as the courts in the United States punishing those who engaged in sabotage at the direction of Donald Trump. Similarly, he mentioned that in Saudi Arabia, supporters of Imran Khan faced legal consequences under the country’s law. Therefore, he questioned why individuals who engaged in acts of burning buses, motorcycles, and damaging properties should not also face punishment here?
To a question, Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that Imran Khan played a negative role for those who brought people into his party. He raised the question of what Imran Khan did with his benefactors such as Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan. (PR)
