Sindh to host investment conference in Dubai Expo 2020

Sindh Investment Conference at Dubai Expo will be held on December 22, 2021.

Sindh government’s Department of Investment and Public-Private Partnership Projects will host an Investment Conference in December this year at Dubai Expo 2020 while the Culture and Tourism Department will organize cultural event there on the same occasion.

In a meeting here on Thursday, the officials of the Investment Department said that specific months have been allocated for the conferences and cultural exhibition of all the provinces in Pakistan Pavilion Dubai, according to which Balochistan will hold its event in current month (October), Punjab in November, Sindh in December, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in January 2022, Gilgit Baltistan in February and Azad Jammu & Kashmir in March.

The meeting held at Sindh Secretariat was attended by Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Minister for Education & Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Special Assistant to the CM on Investment and Public Private Partnership Projects Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar and secretaries of various departments.

Sindh Government would host Investment Conference and Grand Sufi Classical Performance on December 22, 2021.

Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the cultural heritage of Sindh would be highlighted in Pakistani pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020, and added that important projects of the province would also be displayed at Dubai Expo. He directed the secretaries of all the concerned departments to provide details of their important projects to the investment department after which the department of Investment and Public-Private Partnership would work together to ensure the exhibition of such projects at the Dubai Expo.

Minister Sardar Ali Shah said that cultural program would have art, folk music, digital presentation, documentary and workshops which would give us an opportunity to highlight the culture of Sindh in front of the whole world.

Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar said that Government of Sindh will organize events about the climate, rural & urban development, travel connectivity, agriculture, water, knowledge & Learning, tolerance, and health. “We are trying to project the soft side of Sindh through cultural activities while pitching investment and public private partnership opportunities for global investors and governments,” he added.

Sindh Government had constituted a committee headed by the Chief Secretary to finalize preparations for Dubai Expo 2020. The committee includes the provincial minister of culture and special assistant for investment as co-chair and secretaries of various departments as members of the committee. (PR)
