The Peace Society, Sindh University Campus Larkano (SUCL), in collaboration with Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA) organized 2-day training workshops on the themes of Youth Development, Leadership and Conflict/Stress Management for University students, faculty and staff members.
The workshop, which began on Tuesday, has been organized under the Peace Advocacy and Community Engagement through Transformation (PACT) project.
SUCL Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Azhar Ali Shah conducted the training as Resource Person while office bearers and members of various student societies including Abdullah Tunio, Yaseen Memon, Ms. Kulsoom Abbasi, Kabeer Bhutto, Ms. Muskan Hanif, Ms. Aleena Memon, Ms. Pirah Chana, Sadullah Mahesar, Danish Mithani and other students attended the training.
Dr. Azhar Ali Shah explained the objective of the training for students focusing on the diverse aspects of personality development based on cognitive, physical, moral, social and emotional development of the young students aged 15 to 29 as per Pakistan Youth Policy.
Practical exercises and activities related to youth development and leadership were also conducted in the light of the world popular author John C Maxwell and his very popular books including 21 Laws of Leadership and 21 indispensable qualities of leader.
This was followed by practical sessions on how to transform the students to become active citizens engaging in the positive development of society, country and the world at large with adoption of the modern democratic and progressive values, norms and behavior.
Special session was also conducted regarding formation and operation of the Peace Society for cohesive and conducive academic environment at the Campus.
Head of Department, English Department, Hussain Ali Kunbhar coordinated the training workshop. Certificates were also presented to all the participants. (PR)
