Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the spiritual leader of Dawoodi Bohra community, who is on a visit to Karachi, met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah at CM House on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday, Dr. Syedna Mufaddal had visited the shops and businesses of community members in the old city area – Paper Market, Steel Market, Serai Road, Timber Market, Shahrah e Liaqat etc. which is a major financial hub in Karachi that contributes significantly to the trade and economy of Pakistan.
During the meeting with Chief Minister, Dr. Mufaddal encouraged the government to make efforts to improve the economic condition and develop the infrastructure of this important business district. He also suggested that the Government focus on the development of roads in Karachi to enhance the city’s overall infrastructure, says a press release issued on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of the Dawoodi Bohra community, especially in the field of education, and hailed the teachings of Dr. Mufaddal as a driving force behind these noble efforts.
Murad Shah discussed the efforts of the government to improve water availability for the people of Karachi and explained that the K-IV project which will create a new water supply from the Keenjhar Lake with 2 pumping stations, each of which can pump up to 260 million gallons of water. He also explained the ongoing efforts of the government in the Thar Coal Power Project.
During the meeting it was informed that thousands of community members visit the Dawoodi Bohra leader daily and he counsels all, especially the younger entrepreneurs, to stay in Pakistan and play a vital role in the country’s economic development. He also counsels his followers to abstain from smoking and drugs, as they are not only hazardous to health but cause severe damage to the personal and social lives of its users, hindering their development.
Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani, Mr Sharjeel Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah, Mukesh Chawla, Ikramullah Khan, and Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Shahzada Idris Badruddin, brother of His Holiness, and His Holiness’s sons, Shahzada Jaffersadiq Imaduddin, Shahzada Taha Najmuddin and Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin were also present.
