They march

They learn to face their fear

They learn to protest

They protest against a murder

They want justice

They learn to unite and march.

Contemporary World Literature -Suhina Biswasmajumdar- Sindh CourierSuhina Biswasmajumdar, an eminent poet from Kolkata, West Bengal, shares a poem she wrote for a promising doctor recently gang-raped and murdered in Kolkata

A writer from Kolkata, Bengal and a life-long devotee of Swami Vivekananda, Suhina is against any discrimination. Two significant life-forces propel her – ‘love’ and ‘writing’. Suhina’s six books including ‘Tumi’ (you), ‘Songs of Silence’ (A Journey to Love), and ‘Kono Ek Susmita Ke’ are collections of her poetic thoughts.

Kokata-Protest-3THEY MARCH

They march.

She gives them a lesson.

No crematorium ceases

Her voice,

Silence revolts,

Demands her right to protest,

Right to be protected,

Right to live a happy life ever after.

But…

But…

And now

She gives them a lesson.

They march.

At least

They learn to face

Face the fear

Fear of death

Or decay?

They learn to face

Face the fear

Fear to live a life of a non-entity,

Of leeches or lies.

Their spines response.

They protest

They demand justice

They demand protection

Protected today n tomorrow.

A call…

A deadly call…

That call could heal…

She gave.

She gave them a lesson.

They marched.

They march

They learn to face their fear

They learn to protest

They protest against a murder

They want justice

They learn to unite and march

They learn

From

The brutal murder of a young promising doctor.
