Sindh Rural Support Organization in collaboration with UNICEF arranged seminars, discussion events and awareness walks

Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), in collaboration with UNICEF arranged seminars, discussion events and awareness walks in several districts across the northern districts of Sindh to observe World Health Day on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
The theme for the day this year was ‘Health for all’.
In this connection, awareness walk was held at SRSO’s Qambar district office, Miro Khan and Village Bharmi, Union Council (UC) Kairira.
Women leaders of Village Bajhi Khan Jatoi, Taluka Bakrani and Village Gaji Dero, taluka Dokri also held awareness walks to celebrate world health day.
The discussion events were held in Village Lal Chand Ji Wandh, UC Sijawal, Village Punhal Bhutti and Village Shah Pur Jamali, UC Aitbar Khan Chandio to create awareness in the communities about the importance of the day and the prevention and treatment aspects of various medical complications especially among the children.
SRSO organized a health fair in Mehran Public School, Deparja, taluka Mirwah, attended by representatives of local NGOs, health department officials, local notables, journalists, teachers and students.
Speakers in these events spoke about raising awareness about the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of people.
SRSO’s Child Protection Officer, Khan Muhammad said that the aim is to promote awareness about the health particularly among the children.
Dr. Abdul Haleem Sahito stressed the communities for screening, testing, and treatment and education to be made available for all at the primary healthcare level.
Riaz Hussain Maitlo, Ghulam Akbar Bozdar and others also spoke on the occasion.
