The cities of Kyiv and Kharkiv continue to hold out the Russian invading forces but are facing heavy shelling every night – Vladimir Putin’s troops have been accused of bombing civilians

Roughly 2000 Ukraine civilians have been killed in the six days of war with Russia so far.

Russia’s grip on cities such as Kharkiv and Kyiv continues to tighten although both remain under Ukraine control despite intense shelling.

President Volodymyr Zelensky says current estimates are that 6,000 Russian troops have been killed during the invasion although the Kremlin has steadfastly refused to release such figures.

The city of Kherson is surrounded by Russian troops with the Kremlin saying it has seized control.

And Kremlin foreign minister Sergei Lavrov warned the west that ‘World War 3 will be nuclear and destructive’ in an apparent effort to deter any planned interventions.

Thus far Western leaders have expressed reluctance to implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine over fears of escalating the conflict into a full-scale global war with Russia.

The UK Ministry of Defence says “the number of civilians displaced and forced to flee Putin’s invasion has reportedly passed 660,000”
